A housemate in college often let me driver her E36. We had fun driving in snowy conditions. I really liked that car. When we had our first child I was driving a 944 year round but we needed something more family friendly. This was my chance to get a 3-Series. I test drove a used E46 M3 one day and a 330i the next day. I really wanted the M3 but the 330i was surprisingly sporty for a sedan and was much cheaper. It's now 20 years old but I get a lot of compliments on the car. My wife currently drives an X5 and my son drives an F30 335i.
